Amboseni National Park

Amboseli national park the magical land of Kenya lies in the North West direction of Mount Kilimanjaro on the border of Kenya and Tanzania, this park stretches over the area of 392 square kilometers which is dominated by acacia woodland, rocky thorny bush, swamps marshland and a Pleistocene lake

 Amboseli national park is a home to a large concentration of wildlife estimated to be 80 different species including African elephant, African buffalo, impalas, lion, zebra, and wildebeest among other African animals, among the animals the park is more famous for habiting a large population of elephants. The Park hosts birds species  estimated to be 400 which include African swamp hen, Common redshank, Dickinson’s kestrel, Eurasian thick-knee, Greater flamingo, Hartlaub’s bustard, Lesser flamingo, Long-toed lapwing, Pangani longclaw, Rufous chatterer, Rufous-bellied heron, Spike-heeled lark, Steel-blue whydah, Taveta golden weaver, Von der Decken’s hornbill, Yellow-necked spurfowl and many more.

Amboseli national park is a prominent home for wildlife, the park is more recognized for being a home to the largest population of elephants that is why it referred to as the home for elephants and it is the place to see them in Kenya in large numbers. Wildlife in Amboseli national park is concentrated in five specific areas/ habitants that is dried up bed of Lake Amboseli, Sulphur spring wetlands, savannah vegetation cover, open plains and woodlands, wildlife hosted in the park include giraffe, spotted hyena, zebra, buffalo, blue wildebeest, cheetah, elephant, giraffe, hippopotamus, Thomson’s gazelle, impala, lion, cape buffalo and many more

Activity 01

Bird viewing

Amboseli is a home to a variety of birds and animal species found in the wild which are beautiful to look at. It has got a number of wild animals from the widely known Elephants, Lions, Buffalos, Leopards, Zebras, Cheetahs, wildebeests, Giraffes including a variety of birdlife like the Falcons and Kingfisher, African fish Eagle, Grey crowned crane, African jacana, the vulnerable Lesser Kestrel, the Kori bustard, Flamingos, Marabou stork among many more other bird species.

Game Drive

Having experienced the natural attractions of of Amboseli National Park firsthand.

 One cannot help but be captivated by the immense population of African wild elephants that roam the open savana plains, acacia woodlands, rocky thorn bushes, and  swamps.

Going on a game drive in Amboseli National Park is an incredible adventure that can be enjoyed throughout the day. However, the golden hours, from 6:30 am before sunrise  to 11:30 am, offer a particularly magical time for wildlife viewing.  As the sun begins to rise, the park resident animals start to be very active and this is the best hours for photographing the wildlife.

In the afternoon, from 4 pm to 6:30 pm, the park takes on a different feeling. The soft golden light covers the landscape, creating a picturesque setting for observing the wildlife. The hot temperatures of the evening also attract animals to water sources, offering a chance to witness unique interactions and behaviors

Hot Air Baloon safaris

Hot air balloon safaris are an incredible opportunity to experience Amboseli National Park uniquely. Hot air balloon adventures start very early in the morning when the winds are still calm, and As the balloon gently ascends, the magical scenery of Amboseli is uncovered. You will see herds of elephants roam freely in this park

Filming and photography.

Amboseli is famously known for its large-herds of Elephants. This has attracted activities like filming and photography by researchers and documentaries from around the globe. It’s also referred to as the home to the “Big Five” referring to the most dangerous animals difficult to hunt on foot in the continent of Africa.

Meeting the local people.

The ancestral tribe for the land are the Maasai people and the largest number of land and people in this particular region Is dominated by the Maasai. However, there are other local people residing around Amboseli national park and the neighboring countries like Tanzania since the park is seated on the border between Kenya and Tanzania. It’s a great opportunity to get to know the local people around, get to know their culture, food, history and many more other things.
